Our Opticians are trained to work with children and to take the time necessary to instruct proper use and care of contact lenses. The initial fitting takes about an hour to 1 1/2 hours. Fit and movement of contact lens is important for comfort, health and vision. Our office dispenses brands such as Ciba, Bausch & Lomb, Coopervision and Visitakon. We can fit monthly, 1-2 week or daily replacement lenses.
Contact lenses are available in soft disposable lenses and rigid gas permeable lenses.
We participate with Opticare, Davis Vision, VSP, NVA and PA Medicaid. Contact Lenses are not covered under PA Medicaid.
Contact lenses are fit in our office by Dawn Ellson, NCLE, Lisa Maze, ABOC, Bill McClements, LDO, Julie Clark and Tracy Stack. These opticians work exclusively with children and young adults. Our opticians work along with our doctors in providing your child with the safest and best fitting contact lenses available. A full variety of lenses are available for selection. If you are interested in contact lenses, please advise us before your appointment, if possible, so that we may make arrangements. If you already wear contact lenses, please bring your glasses and your contacts, the boxes your contacts came in, and the contact cleaning solutions you use.
Our initial contact lens fitting fee includes evaluating the fit of the contact lenses, teaching your child how to insert and remove the lenses. This $90.00 fee will be collected at the time of your visit. We allow for 1 - 1/2 hours for the initial fitting. If your child is still struggling with insertion and removal, we will schedule more sessions as needed within a 90 day period. A contact lens prescription, good for 1 year, will be issued.
If you are a current contact lens wearer and need a renewed contact lens prescription, you will be charged a $40.00 fee for the contact lens evaluation.
